Another Spring, Another Semester!

Good Tuesday morning!

A little Soul II Soul to get us moving

So pardon my singing

It’s Spring Semester, and there is always some excitement with the beginning of the Semester..

And for your listening pleasure, a way to welcoming in another moment of studying, reading, waiting, praying and being..

Fueling through the Final Push

Keep your lamps, trimmed and burning…

It is that difficult time of the year

when Seminarians grow weary

and just want to binge Netflix and Hulu

tempted even to have Peapod deliver everything that is bad for us

It’s the final push as the semester begins to take its final bow on stage

Papers and projects are piling as high as any Snowpocalypse possible

Senior M.Div’ers one by one taking a whirl on the terrifying ride called Approval

pouring out our hearts in RLP’s and candidate commentaries

Middlers contemplating and dreaming of Internship as they march into Endorsement interviews

Meanwhile Th.M/Ph.D snug in their swank library private study enclaves, wrestling with exams and dissertations

and Juniors stuck at exactly what they should register for.

Last Thursday in Worship, the question was posed about what fueled our own lamps

What was our own personal oil?

What is getting us through these hard times

endless classroom days

even, life interrupted because of tragedy,

Time and again, most of us can soundly agree that this community keeps us going-

From caring for us when we are ill, or exhausted

For lending a helping hand when our car battery dies

For cheering us on with sermons we write in class

For participating with community wide, class presentations

For hugging us each and every moment when we are dealing with the loss of someone beloved

Perhaps it can be safely said, that this community is a blended olive oil

Swirling with love for one another, prayers, and the Holy Spirit

that keeps our lamps, trimmed and burning…

God’s Peace.
