Where Christ Dwells: A #reLent Journey. The Black Christ

As people of faith,

we must strive to see the reflection of Christ in many faces

especially exiled people wandering in the wilderness

exiled from a land that they struggle to connect

but because of the schism that was birth from an abyss of slavery,

of racism

of false doctrine

from those who were wearing the mask of Christianity

but refused to follow in the steps of the risen Christ

we falter, we give up, we weep.

Those who are supposed to be our fellow sister and brother in Christ disregard whom we are

disregard the holiness in our features

that we too hear the words

These are my children, my Beloved, in whom I am well pleased.”

martyred simply for believing in God

ridiculed for the color of his skin, that the Creator painted him in

chained as nothing more than a slave, but still remained dedicated and humble, praying for all, accepted by all who encountered this “Black Mother”

through pain, suffering and addiction, was lifted up out of the ashes by the Creator and passed along the Gospel through his music

“ There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.”
