Watching, Waiting, Awakening-#reLent

Yesterday seemed as if we danced in parallel worlds.

The air of Ash Wednesday and its mystery has been, over the past couple of years, lifted for me into that time where there is an understanding of coming home once more, to be in the presence of the Creator with the masks lifted and torn from our faces, unveiling and exposing our fragility and vulnerability to who we are as God’s children.

Sometimes in these moments of preparing sacred space, there is chaos to where sometimes one wishes just to have the ability to be in the moment, nestled in those ashes, to be prayed over and sent out reminding others of our purpose along this journey.

Sometimes we are those charged with #watching; watching for the shift in the atmosphere, when the Holy Spirit descends among the beloved community, pushing aside those doors which block us from being in relationship with the Creator and showing us the #way, that there is starkness and emptiness and we, as God’s vessels..because we are made in the Image of the Divine, are called to fill each of these places wrought with fear, sorrow, injustice and longing with the Love that can not be described or categorized but Lived, empowering us when the darkness disrupts the fluidity of Life.

Yesterday once more surrounded by ever flowing waters, guided by sacred lamps, we were reminded again how the Light has guided our journey throughout this time at Seminary

“Oh Lord hear my prayer

Oh Lord hear my prayer

When I call, answer me

Oh Lord hear my prayer

Oh Lord hear my prayer

Come and listen to me”
